the big room

Here's the "big room"- lots of stuff, almost have the print shop up and running. I got a super heavy sewing machine, I am a sucker for 2 tone green. I have a big quick dinnerware commission - love being able to pay the rent- then screening yardage and reupholstering. The dinnerware is a very simple funny story told across 64 plates...

tool room

I like this room a lot- pegboards for tools, shelves for pencils, a big long table with my paper cutter and light box. Just the right amount of space for working on drawings or fiddly bits, everything close at hand.

As promised

My doctors assure me that the best way back from a long bout of amnesia is a systematic analysis of my surroundings. In that spirit this begins visual tour of the new studio...

The door- lovely weird metal with a mail slot - the numbers are a bit offensive- I see a new vinyl cut in my future. The green is a bit odd but with the brick it reminds me of an old H.A.Rey book so I am leaving that for now. Tomorrow.... the office room.

sweet return

Oh my - where have I been? What is happening? I seem to be slowly recovering from a strange bout of amnesia- luckily even in my sleep I managed to work on the new studio - I will do a week of studio shots starting Monday- don't want to wake up too quickly now, do we?

The street of Industry

I have had my eye on this space for almost a year- back when rough and perfect was just a glimmer of an idea. I LOVE this street! Most of the buildings and businesses are from the 30's and 40's- there are upholsterers and bakers and printers- heaven. Stay tuned as we fix up our new digs....
